How to assign orders to a trip

In this article we will go through the various ways that you can assign orders to a trip.

The assign menu
The assign menu allows you to assign a selected group of orders to a trip. Using this menu you can determine whether you are going to create a new trip for the orders, add them to an existing trip or generate a new trip based on a trip template.

The assign menu can be found in several places:
Within "Orders"
In the "Create order" view, as a card in the bottom
In the "Orders list" view, as a popup in the "more" menu in the top right corner
In the "Order details" view, as a popup in the "more" menu in the top right corner

Within "Dispatching"
In the "Stops list", as a popup in the "more" menu in the top right corner
In the "Orders list", as a popup in the "more" menu in the top right corner

How it works
When using the assign menu, the default value is "Unassign". This will simply unassign the orders, if they are already assigned to a trip. The other options include "Tray", "Trip" and "Send to routing rules", which we will now describe:

Assign to Tray
Using this function you can send the orders into a tray. If you want to learn more about trays, please see this article:

Assign to Trip
This function will allow you to assign the selected orders to a trip. When selecting this option you are presented with a form to fill out, which is structured like this:

Send to routing rules
This function does exactly as the label states - it will send the selected orders through the routing rules that you have defined. If you want to learn more about defining routing rules, please see this article:

Using drag and drop
You can also assign orders to trips within the "Dispatching" using drag and drop.
