# How to edit the details of a place

This guide offers a quick overview of how to edit the details of place.

### Steps:

1. Open the web portal and log in.

2. Navigate to the **"Settings"** tab, then select the **"Locations"** sub-tab.

3. Click **anywhere** within the place.

4. There are two **edit icons** available.

5. Click on **first edit icon**, update any desired information about location details and then **save** the changes.

> While editing, you have the option to set a picture for your place
> **Location Reference:** This field allows you to enter a short name for the place. It can be helpful when you have a long place name, as the short name can be used as label for [Route lookup](#) and [Webhooks](#). If you enable the **'Not active terminal Location Reference'** toggle, the location reference name will be reflected. Otherwise, it will remain disabled.

6. Click on **Second edit icon**, update description if needed and then **save** the changes.
