# Storage > Take from Storage

## Storage › Take from Storage

The Take from Storage feature allows authorized users to record items they are taking out of a storage location. Every take operation is logged with a timestamp and associated to the user's account.

### How to Access

1. Click **Storage** in the left sidebar to expand the sub-menu.
2. Select **Take from Storage**.

### How to Take an Item

1. On the Take from Storage page, the form will be displayed.
2. Select the Storage Location from the dropdown list.
3. Select the Container Type you are taking.
4. Enter any additional details required (e.g., quantity, notes).
5. Click **Confirm** to record the transaction.

### Form Fields

| Field | Description | Required |
| ---- |
| Storage Location | The physical location from which the item is taken | Yes |
| Container Type | The type/category of the container being taken | Yes |
| Container Sub Type | The subtype of the container based on the container type | Yes |
| Quantity taken | The amount that was taken from the storage location. Cannot be 0 | Yes |

### Expected Outcome

* The item is marked as "out" in the storage system
* A transaction record is created with your user ID and timestamp
* The item will appear in Storage Report and Storage Summary with its new status
