How to create a vehicle
This guide offers a quick overview of how to create a vehicle.

The first step is to create a vehicle. After that, you can explore other useful vehicles features. Let's dive into this article to learn more.
To create a vehicle, you need the 'Admin' or 'Dispatcher' user roles. If you don't have these roles, contact your 'Admin' user for assistance.
Open the web portal and log in.
If unfamiliar, follow this article: How to login in to the Dropboy web application
Navigate to the Settings tab, then select the Vehicles sub-tab. Click on the + button.
Create Vehicle form displayed with two sections: 'Basic Details' and 'Advanced Details'.
Click the camera icon to upload a photo of the vehicle.
Enter the license number in the license plate field.
Enter a name in the nickname field, if necessary.
Enter the make year of the vehicle in the make field, if necessary.
Enter the model of the vehicle in the model field.
Click choose vehicle type and select the appropriate type. Refer to the article for more details: How many vehicle types are available for selection [Coming soon]
Enter any value in the tag field. Refer to the article, how tags can help in searching for vehicles, for more details: How to search vehicles by 'Tags' under the Vehicle tab
Select a driver from the dropdown menu (assignable after vehicle creation). Refer to the article for more details: How can i assign or change the driver for a created vehicle
Select the locations for the following preferences:
There are different location options and other useful features to learn about. Refer to the article for more details: Why do we set locations and how does it optimize distance for drivers
Enable different checkboxes such as 'Add ending point for vehicle,' 'Hide on VRP,' 'Make visible for drivers with the role 'choose trip',' and set up start times for any day.

Clicking the Next button will populate the advance detail section.
Enter the tare weight of the vehicle in the corresponding field.
Enter the total weight of the vehicle in the 'total Weight' field.
Actual weight is calculated by subtracting the total tare weight from the total vehicle weight. For example, if the total tare weight is 250 and the total vehicle weight is 1000, the actual weight is 750.
Enter the box length of the vehicle in the ;Length' field.
Enter the box width of the vehicle in the 'Width' field.
Enter the box height of the vehicle in the 'Height' field.
Enter the vehicle speed factor in the 'Vehicle Speed Factor' field.
By default, the value is set to '1'. If you input a value such as '1.5', it indicates that the trip completion time will take 50 percent longer.
Click on the edit icon and select the desired vehicle feature boxes, if needed. Refer to the article for more details: How to add additional vehicle information and their significance
Click Create to proceed. Vehicle creation will redirect you to the vehicle list.
